It’s the truth. And it’s better for me to accept it without letting it bring me down. Those people don’t have to like me. Plus, if I’m worrying about getting everyone to like me, I’m going to be a tired chameleon who’s missing the point. I need to focus on God’s opinion of me, living before His eyes. It’s hard to do that at times when all I hear are people’s opinions. Paul talked about pleasing man…hard to do if one wants to please God. And since God is the judge of my life, I think it’s a wiser choice to try to please Him.
Lord, please help me to do so, to please You. I fall short every day. Thank You for grace. But please help me not to give up. I may fail a thousand times, but getting up each time is key. May I truly seek to please You, oh Lord. A life lived to please You will be a life well-spent.
“20-21But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life! 22-23Go easy on those who hesitate in the faith. Go after those who take the wrong way. Be tender with sinners, but not soft on sin. The sin itself stinks to high heaven. 24-25And now to Him who can keep you on your feet, standing tall in His bright presence, fresh and celebrating—to our one God, our only Savior, through Jesus Christ, our Master, be glory, majesty, strength, and rule before all time, and now, and to the end of all time. Yes.” (Jude 1:20-25, The Message) I’m well aware that I kind of went on a rabbit trail here, but that’s okay!
